Individual Kumite
On February 24th, 2019, the 35th annual Itosu-kai East Japan Junior Karatedo Championships were held at Tsurumi University’s gymnasium.
Total 500 children competed at Kumite, Kata, Team Kumite and Team Kata divisions. For kumite divisions WKF modified rule was used. (Running time 1:30, 6 points leading), and for kata divisions, Itosu-ryu katas were mandatory but JKF Shitei katas were accepted for the only final.
The level of children is getting higher and higher last few years. We expect those children will compete in a big stage, such as JKF national and WKF international championships, as the representative of Itosu-kai in future.
