Denmark celebrates Itosu-ryu 78th birthday
To commemorate the historical day of the founding of Itosu-ryu March 1st 1940, the Danish branch held a special old-school training for the branch dojos.
No tatamis, lots of kihon, lots of repetitions of tsuki, mae geri, push-ups etc.
In Denmark the instructors used to apply the wooden shinai to correct the students before – so off course this was applied also in this special practice.
Congratulations to all Itosu-ryu branches worldwide.
In Denmark the current instructor group is relatively young, Nonetheless, a reception was held to celebrate the 3 most senior instructors and their combined 80 years of Itosu-ryu as of 2018.

デンマークにて糸洲会創立78周年記念イベント開催
1940年3月1日に糸洲会が設立された歴史的日を記念して、デンマーク糸洲会は、古式の練習を特別に行った。
マットの上ではなく床の上で、基本の突き蹴りや腕立て伏せを数多く行った。
デンマークの指導員達も嘗ては木刀を持って生徒誤りを直したものである。もちろんこの指導方法も今回の特別稽古に取り入れられた。
世界の糸洲会の皆様、糸洲会創立記念日おめでとうございます！
デンマークの現在の指導者層は、比較的若いが、式典は同時に彼らの空手道歴をもお祝いし、更に、糸洲会創立80周年記念もまとめて2018年に祝う事となった。
